Riding Experience:
Shannon has been riding horses for fourteen years.  Her passion for horses began at the age of 11 when she started lessons at White Dog Farm (WDF).  At the age of 16, she began working at WDF while eagerly pursuing advancement in her horsemanship education. Due to her belief that you can always learn more, Shannon continues to sharpen her riding skills by receiving regular lessons and attending continuing education clinics.

Instructor Experience:
On the farm, Shannon has mastered horse care and management. She has been a riding instructor for six.  As an instructor, Shannon guides students in developing the subtle ability to listen to the horse.  Her teaching style includes guidance in developing a balanced seat and being a partner with the horse. Her gift for teaching children and her passion for horses has made Shannon a favorite among parents and students alike.

For as long as Shannon can remember, she has felt a calling to work with children with special needs.  Not wanting to work within the confines of a classroom, Shannon was finally able to converge her passion for horses, the outdoors, and children with special needs together while volunteering for a therapeutic riding school.  White Dog Farm owner, Anna Hyde is thrilled that Shannon will now offer these special skills and services at White Dog Farm.

Formal Education:
Shannon holds a degree in Early Childhood Development from Gainesville State College and she is certified as a NARHA (??) Registered Instructor.

Personal:
In 2001 Shannon fulfilled a lifelong dream of horse ownership.  She purchased her first horse named Kato.  He is "Shannon's Love" and is also a valuable asset to WDF.  Kato is one of the favorite school horses.
